Submerged Spiral Classifier

Submerged spiral classifier takes advantage of the difference in sedimentation speed of solid particles in slurry to complete classification. It is widely applied in mineral processing plant for grinding circuit classification, ore washing, desliming and dehydration. It can be connected with energy-saving ball mill in closed grinding circuit, suitable for wet magnetic separating of magnetite, pyrrhotite, roasted ore, ilmenite, etc. with the granularity of 3mm. It is also applied for deironing in coal, non-metal ores, and building materials.

Working Principle

Submerged spiral classifier takes advantage of the difference in sedimentation speed of solid particles in slurry to complete classification. Ore slurry is fed into the tank from the inlet in middle sedimentation area. The spiral with low-speed rotation stirs the slurry, fine ore grain rise and float on water then flow out with water. Coarse ore grain sink to the bottom of tank, then delivered upwards by screw conveyor, and then discharged as return sand.
