Wood dryer is one type of rotary dryer that is special designed for drying sawdust, wood chips, straw, charcoal, etc. Featured by low energy consumption and high drying efficiency, it is widely applied in cement plant, biomass pellet plant, metallurgy, mining, electricity, chemical industry, etc. It is classified into direct heat transfer rotary drum dryer and indirect rotary drum dryer. It can be set up as an independent unit as well as a complete system which includes dust collector, feeder, conveyor and other necessary machines.

Working Principle
Wood sawdust is delivered to feed hopper by belt conveyor, then enter into the feed end through feeding pipe. The slant angle of feeding pipe is larger than natural inclination of materials, so as to the materials can flow into dryer smoothly. The cylinder is a slant rotating drum, the sawdust is fed from upper end, and the heating medium is fed from low side, countercurrent contacting with materials. Materials move downwards under the influence of gravity with the rotation of drum. Wet materials is dried by heating medium when moving forwards, then send out by belt conveyor or screw conveyor at the discharge end.
