High Weir Spiral Classifier

High weir spiral classifier is classifying equipment that takes advantage of the different sedimentation speed of solid particles in slurry. It is widely applied in mineral processing plant for grinding circuit classification, ore washing, desliming and dehydration. It can be connected with energy-saving ball mill in closed grinding circuit, suitable for wet magnetic separating the magnetite, pyrrhotite, roasted ore, ilmenite, etc. with the granularity of less than 3mm. It is also applied for deironing in coal, non-metal ores, and building materials.

Working Principle

High weir spiral classifier is a tilt-mounted classifying tank. Ore slurry is fed into the tank from the inlet in middle sedimentation area. The spiral with low speed rotation stirs the slurry, fine ore grain rise and float on water then flow out with water. Coarse ore grain sink to the bottom of tank, then delivered upwards by screw conveyor, and then discharged as return sand. Overflow weir is above the bearing center of screw shaft bottom end, and below the upper edge of spiral in overflow end.
